Description
This book is the third compilation of my works, presented at various national and international seminars, workshops, conferences, and published in international journals between 2017 and 2018.It comprises ten chapters exploring education, history, and government policy in Indonesia and Japan.
Key topics include: the controversy surrounding Japanese middle school history textbooks and their impact on national identity; a comparative analysis of nationalism in Indonesian and Japanese textbooks; the Japanese government’s response to the growing “futoko” phenomenon, where students withdraw from school; and other topics. These studies shed light on the role of education in shaping society and policy.
